Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan tipped the officials on dealing with intricacies of life with ease. He said that the key to deal with the intricacies and challenges of life effortlessly is by living life with positivity and vivacity.

The Chief Secretary said this while addressing officials during a workshop organized on the issue of Mental Health at Workplaces by the Heath Department. He said that in order to ensure sound mental health, one should always have a positive attitude as well as a sense of gratitude towards life. He said that in today’s time, being away from family, due to work or not being able to talk openly with loved ones leads to loneliness which causes stress. This can seriously affect ones mental health. To keep such issues at bay, one should spend quality time with friends, children and family members. He further shared that as parents we should listen to the problems being faced by our children as the problems which seem small to us can be huge for them so we should spend “quality time instead of spending quantity time” with them.

The Chief Secretary said that in order to lead a stress-free life we should take some time out from our busy schedules for ourselves and pursue our hobbies or do things we like to do. He said that stress is not a blot on us and if we understand it in time and resolve it then it can help us lead stress-free life.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary recited a poem by renowned poet, Sh. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, “Baith Jata Hu Mitti Pe Aksar, Kyunki Mujhe Apni Aukad Achi Lagti Hai, Meine Samandar Se Seekha Hai Jeene Ka Saleeka, Chupchap Se Behna Aur Apni Mauj Mein Rehna”, while hinting towards the key to live a stress-free life.

In the workshop, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora said that such workshops would be organised in other offices as well so that the employees can be informed about leading a stress-free life. He said that it is pertinent to be socially, mentally and physically healthy. He elaborated mental illnesses should not be a taboo and is like other diseases and its treatment is possible. On this occasion, psychiatrist, Dr. M.P. Sharma and clinical psychologist, Anu Bansal shared information about mental diseases and their diagnosis through a power point presentation (PPT). On this occasion, Special Secretary, Secretariat Establishment, Sh. Maheshwar Sharma, Director General Health Services, Dr. Veena Singh and other senior officers were also present.
