Haryana Government, taking an important decision in the interest of about 24 lakh students studying in 14,386 government schools in the state, has started preparations for setting up ‘First-Aid Boxes’ containing medicines used for first aid in schools. For this, the ‘Haryana School Education Project Council’ has also released a total amount of about Rs 3 crore for the financial year 2021-22. Science teachers will be made in-charge by giving first-aid training. An amount of Rs. 2,000 has been earmarked for each school.

Giving information about this, an official spokesperson said that a child spends most of his time in school. If a child is injured during this time, immediate first aid is needed. In view of this, the government has released Rs. 2,87,72,000 for all government schools in the state under the scheme ‘Fund for Protection and Security at School Level’.
He said that the government through Haryana School Education Project Council has earmarked a budget for purchasing first-aid boxes in 11,049 primary and 3,337 secondary schools in the state. On behalf of the Haryana School Education Project Council, all the District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers, District Project Coordinators and District Block Education Officers have been directed to put 24 items shown in the list in the ‘First-Aid Box’ kit.
The spokesperson said that directions have been given not to keep expired medicines etc. in this kit and to check it from time to time.
