Haryana Government through Department of Medical Education and Research has started USG Thorax service at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Women’s Medical College, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat.

Chandigarh, September 15 : Haryana Government through Medical Education and Research Department has started the service of USG Thorax at BPS GMC (W) Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat under the able guidance of Dr. Anand Agrawal, MD in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. BPS GMC (W) College is a state of art institution located in District Sonipat.

Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson of Medical Education and Research Department said that the State Government is committed to provide tertiary level care facilities across the state and also in rural areas. It has been learnt from the past experience that for treatment whenever a family goes to city the cost of treatment is too much and often families ends up in debt trap.

He said that with such facilities in the Government Medical Colleges anyone can avail the facility and that too without any cost. All treatment in medical colleges is provided free and closer to home also. The commitment of the state government is reflected with the continuous efforts of MER Department to expand the infrastructure in medical colleges.

The spokesperson said that the liquid medical oxygen tanks with 10KL capacity each are also being provided in each medical college. The current modality through Ultra Sonography provides the treatment for many lung diseases such as fluid collection in the lungs, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The modality is very precise in finding out the disease and provides the treatment on the bed side itself, he added.
