Haryana Police arrested a murder convict from Madhya Pradesh

Chandigarh, November 26

Haryana Police has arrested a convict, who was on the run for about 10 years after jumping parole in a case of murder that he committed in 2007, from Madhya Pradesh.

Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused was identified as Jaan Mohd alias Janu, a resident of district Nuh. The crackdown was made by a team of the Crime Investigation.

Divulging the details, he said that a court sentenced him to life imprisonment. He had been lodged in Bhondsi (Gurugram) jail before he was granted parole in 2010. As he failed to return, the court had declared him a proclaimed offender. DGP Haryana had also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.  After changing his appearance, he was living at Alada Kheri, district Sihor in Madhya Pradesh to evade arrest.

During preliminary interrogation, he was found involved in two other cases registered at Nagina police station, Nuh. Further investigation is underway.
