Chandigarh, March 9- Haryana Power and Jails Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has presented a balanced budget for all sections. Before the budget, the Chief Minister took suggestions from all the departments of the state and presented this budget keeping in mind the changes that can be made at the ground-level.
He said that the Chief Minister has allocated Rs 7203.31 crore for power and renewable energy sectors in the budget of the financial year 2022-23, which also includes subsidy of Rs 5,983 crore for agricultural pumpsets. He said that Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) has planned to develop 181 MW solar power plants to promote renewable energy system in the state. Construction work of 39 new sub-stations and augmenting the capacity of 178 existing sub-stations is in progress.
Sh. Ranjit Singh said that line losses have also come down after the raids conducted by the Power Department across the state. The government has also removed the electricity lines passing over villages, temples and schools etc. at its own expense.
He said that the government is going to build a high security jail in Rohtak which will be a model jail with CCTV cameras along with state-of-the-art security equipment. The jails in Hisar and Ambala are very old and appropriate area is also being explored to build a new jail here. He added that public interest has been taken care of in the budget presented by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.
