HAVE YOU WONDERED WHY YOUR FINGERNAILS GROW FASTER THAN YOUR TOENAILS?

Our hands and feet have nails because they prevent bacteria and other viruses from entering inside our body. Some people love growing their fingernails, especially girls because they appear classy and aesthetic. Some people have a hard time growing nails while for others they grow out real quick. You might have noticed that if you chop off your fingernails and toenails at the same time, the fingernails tend to grow back much faster. Want to know why? Keep reading below to find out-

1.Toenails Get Less Blood Circulation- A major reason why your toenails grow slow is because of lack of certain nutrients in the body. Another reason is that the circulation is less in our feet as compared to our hands. Our hands are located quite close to our heart due to which they have a better circulation than the feet. This leads to faster growth of fingernails.

2. Toenails Face Less Trauma Than Fingernails-  Another factor that affects the growth of nails is the trauma experienced by them. We work with our hands all day and our nails can face trauma. Once they are hurt the body begins the process of healing them which also promotes the growing of the nails. As our toenails barely face any trauma and there is nothing to repair, our body doesn’t allow much growth on the nails of the feet.

3. Toenails Get Less Nutrition-  Our toenails attain less amount of nutrients which we consume because the blood flow is less in the feet. Even if you are trying to have healthy fingernails by eating more nutritious food, the nutrition might not affect your toenails much because only a few of them would reach the feet due to less circulation. Thus, the toenails would grow slower than fingernails even if you put in efforts.
