HOW IS FLU AND CORONAVIRUS DIFFERENT

The winters are going to commence soon and number of Americans are worried that with the changing weather their family is likely to get cold. In the current situation of the pandemic, it might be difficult to differentiate between a normal flu and coronavirus. Given that the symptoms of both are quite similar, it is hard to differentiate. We can only take a guess by looking at the symptoms because they do differ a bit.

Last year the flu season in America has said to be the worst one as there were vast number of deaths of children during the period. As a precautionary measure, the Health Ministry has advised people to get a flu shot beforehand. This year, the transmission of flu from person to another is less possible as people have adapted to healthy habits like wearing masks and maintaining social distance during the hit of Covid-19. This year, the flu shots have been manufactured in excess as they reduce the mortality rate considerably.
The common symptoms of a flu include a runny nose, sore throat, body aches, coughing, and sneezing. In the worst case it can lead to pneumonia which can cause shortness of breath. This makes it real hard to know if you have been infected with Covid-19 or is it just a normal seasonal flu. One major difference that might help is: People who get infected with coronavirus tend to lose their sense of smell all of a sudden. In worst cases you might not be able to breathe at all. This is a major identification of Coronavirus.
Thus, it is essential to take precautions and if you are doubtful get a PCR type Corona test to be sure that you are not infected. Although, it is not very accurate so you might want to take two such tests instead of one.
