The second meeting of the High Power Committee on Corruption cases was held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary
A total of 389 complaints were registered by Vigilance in the last two months, investigation completed on 216 complaints
Proposal to appoint Chief Vigilance Officer is ready, advertisement will be issued soon
Chandigarh, November 7 – The Haryana Government will create a separate Chemistry and Physics division in the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory established in Panchkula. It was apprised in the meeting that currently there is no such Chemistry and Physics division for sample testing.
This was decided in the second meeting of the High Power Committee on Corruption cases constituted at the state level under the leadership of Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal today. It was apprised in the meeting that most of the samples sent for examination are related to Chemistry and Physics, due to which further action will be taken in the cases. Therefore, a proposal will be sent to CFSL to create a separate division of Chemistry and Physics in this lab.
In accordance with the zero tolerance approach being used to eradicate corruption in Haryana, the committee is keeping a strict vigil on such cases. The Chief Secretary reviewed the action being taken on the cases registered by Vigilance from time to time. A total of 389 cases were registered by Vigilance in the last two months, out of which investigation has been completed in 216 cases. Out of the completed investigations, departmental action has been recommended in 47 and criminal cases have been recommended in 5 investigations. 3 cases have been sent to the state government for further decision.
Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers that while preparing all action reports, the source of complaints should also be recorded, so that the government can trace from where the maximum complaints are coming. He also directed that the action taken on complaints should also be followed up from time to time, so that the action taken till the last level can also be strictly monitored.
Chargesheet/Challan filed in 128 cases
It was informed in the meeting that from January 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022, out of the registered cases related to corruption, charge sheets / challans have been filed in 128 cases. Filing of chargesheet/challan is still pending in 258 cases. On this, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed that the process of filing chargesheet/challan should be completed at the earliest even in pending cases.
The Chief Secretary said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, a proposal for posting of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) has been prepared. Advertisement for these posts will be issued as soon as the final approval is received. Retired officers will also be given a chance for CVO. He informed that a 6-member committee has been constituted by the Chief Minister to appoint the CVO.
The Chief Secretary said that corruption will not be tolerated at all in the state. Therefore, the State Vigilance Bureau has also been expanded to the division level. Due to the continuous efforts of the state government, officers and employees involved in corruption cases are being caught and appropriate action is being taken against them.
In the recent meeting of the Home Ministers held at Surajkund, discussions were held with National Forensic University, Gujarat to open a campus in Haryana. The university has agreed to open a campus in Panchkula. A proposal in this regard is being prepared.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Haryana and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. VS Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. TVSN Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Director General of Police, Sh. PK Agrawal, and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
