Chandigarh, February 15 – In view of the warning of possible protests by ASHA workers in Haryana on February 17, 2022, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana has asked all civil surgeons to ensure that no ASHA should participate in any strike or protest in their respective districts and ensure to provide a copy of this notification in writing to the ASHA Workers’ Union as well.

        Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section 1 of section (4) of the Haryana Essential Services-Maintenance Act, 1974, as per the notification issued by the State Government on January 11, 2022, the Health Department, strike by doctors or other categories of employees including persons employed on contractual daily wages, honorarium etc. in various institutions of Haryana, ie National Health Mission, Food and Drug Administration, AYUSH, etc., is prohibited for 6 months.

Accordingly, the Mission Director, National Health Mission Haryana has issued instructions to all the civil surgeons for the implementation of the Haryana Essential Services-Maintenance Act, 1974.
