KARAPUR VIRDI BRIDGE TO BE MADE VERY SOON

Panaji, April 28th

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has told that, the Government will make steps to construct new bridge across Valvonti River connecting Karapur and Virdi villages. He said, to have bridge on Valvonti River is a long pending demand of these villagers. Once the bridge is made it will fecilitate the people of Karapur and Virdi villages by reducing the distance and also accelerate the space of development. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant threw open the newly constructed Shahid 2nd Liutenant Vir Jayendra Jayba Rane Sardesai Bridge in the presence of Shri Praveen Zantye, MLA, at Sankhali. The existing pedestrian bridge was demolished and the new two lane bridge of 7.5 width carriageway along with the walk way on both sides is made on Valvanti River. The bridge consists of single span, approaches 400 m on Karapur side and 200 m on Sankhali Side. The cost of the project is Rs. 8.12 crores.
