Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 Panchkula wins public appreciation

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal himself reached the sports stadium thrice

Chandigarh, June 9 – Apart from the parents of the players, other people are also reaching Panchkula to watch the final matchs of Khelo India Youth Games-2021 being held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula in Haryana.
This stadium, built for sports according to international standards, remains a topic of discussion among the people. Coaches and other sporting staff, along with school children from 36 states and union territories, as well as technical staff and sports experts from Sports Authority of India and various Sports Federations are keeping an eye on every competition being held in the stadium.

Khelo India’s goal is to prepare the players of the Indian team for the future
The main objective of the roadmap prepared by experts for the Khelo India Youth Games for school children and India University Games for colleges and universities is to give shape to the vision of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement and to provide players for future Indian teams. The popularity of Khelo India Youth Games has grown since it was organized in Delhi in 2018. So far, the number of players participating in Khelo India organized in Pune and Guwahati after Delhi has increased significantly compared to the number of players  in Panchkula, Haryana. Around 2,500 players participated in Delhi whereas now 8,000 players are participating in Khelo India Youth Games being organized in Panchkula. Similarly, more than 3,900 players from 208 universities across the country participated in the India University Games. The main goal of organizing both the games is to activate the Sports Federations and to motivate the players towards sports right from a young age.

Every player hopes that the Sports Minister and Sports Secretary of their respective state should reach Panchkula

It is the desire of every player playing in Khelo India that the Sports Minister and Sports Secretary of their respective state should reach Panchkula to see their game, so that along with encouraging them, the Ministers and Secretaries can also get information about the sports infrastructure available here and if possible take initiative to create similar infrastructure in their own state also.

The leaders of other states have also reached the stadium
The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit, who originally hails from Rajasthan, stayed in the stadium for almost two hours yesterday, while on the other hand, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Sh. Gajendra Singh Shakhwat and Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal reached the stadium today. They encouraged the players after seeing the performance of the players of Malkhamb and met with the players who participated in the Handball and Basketball competitions which started from today.  On both the days the players of Rajasthan were feeling proud. The leader of Rajasthan origin was of the opinion that other states should take inspiration from Haryana.
