Kisan Andolan: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare invites representatives of Punjab farmers for discussion
New Delhi, November 10
Punjab farmers have been protesting against the central government laws of reforming agricultural marketing. They have been blocking roads and railways as a part of their protest. The reason behind their agitation is that they see a threat to wheat and rice procurement on which they are very much dependent.
After noticing the farmers’ agitation and understanding their fears, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has invited several representatives of farmers from Punjab to have a discussion regarding the same. In the meeting, the farmers can have a one on one discussion with the Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar and the Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal.
The farmer representatives have been requested to solicit their presence in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on November 13th, 2020 from 11 AM onwards.
