MLA AND DC LAUNCH UNIFIED STATE HELPLINE ‘1100’ FOR GOVERNMENT SERVICES

Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Surinder Kumar Dawar and Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday launched an unified state helpline ‘1100’ for non-emergency government services besides dedicated a state admission portal for government colleges.
Participating a virtual state level function presided over by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, MLA and DC said that now the citizens can lodge their complaints or raise their grievances against any department on ‘1100’ helpline an one-stop solution where the issues/complaints would be recorded, forwarded, tracked and timely-solved.
They said that this new helpline has been clubbed with all other helplines of different departments for non-emergency services under one roof.
They added that the helpline has also been connected with the Punjab Government’s grievance redressal system.
MLA and Deputy Commissioner disclosed that the raised issue or complaint would be transferred through online portal www.connect.Punjab.Gov.in to the concerned departments for further process in the time bound manner and the complaint would be closed only after satisfaction of the complainant.
They told that the helpline has been launched by the Punjab Government to ensure a time-bound resolve of the citizen’s concerns and said that this helpline aims to address all the issues of the citizens at the earliest with all the government departments on this one-stop platform.
MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab Government is committed to giving topmost priority to settle all the concerns of citizens as soon as possible on this digital medium.
Meanwhile, they also dedicated an integrated online admission portal for under graduate and post graduate courses in government colleges. They told that the entire process would be completely contactless and further, the verification of applicants would also be contactless as the portal is linked to all state boards as well as CBSE through digilocker.
They added that similarly caste certificate and domicile certificate of the applicants would be auto verified by the portal.
They added that this digital admission system would be very helpful for the students to get admission in any college by visiting and seeking seats in the government colleges by sitting at their homes. A fixed application form fee of Rs 200 only for the applicants, they said and added that the students don’t have to pay the prospects fee seperately to every college while applying.
