MLA BHOLA KICK-STARTS ROAD PROJECT WORTH Rs. 1.87 CRORE AT CHANDIGARH ROAD

LASHES OUT PREVIOUS REGIME FOR IGNORING THIS AREA FOR LAST FIVE YEARS

ALSO ASSURES EARLY COMPLETION OF THIS WORK 

Ludhiana, June 21 :-

MLA Ludhiana East Daljit Singh Grewal Bhola today kick-started the much-awaited road project at Chandigarh Road at an outlay of Rs. 1.87 crore aimed at benefiting the lakhs of commuters, especially the residents of sector 32 and 33 who are facing trouble at this dug up road.

Divulging the details, the MLA said that this project would be completed on a fast-track basis so that its early completion could be ensured to facilitate lakhs of commuters and residents living alongside this road. Bhola said that the project was in a limbo for nearly five years due to apathy of previous government towards the residents of this locality adding that now the project revised estimate has been finalised and the work has been started.

The MLA said that earlier there was no provision for drains at this road, which would have led to depletion of this road, however in the revised estimate provision of drains have been added in the entire project. He said that the work of constructing new drains alongside this road has been started, which would be completed within a period of 20 days, followed by carpeting of new road here. He also said that the people of sectors 32 and 33 had been long-demanding of this road but the previous regime had ignored it adding that now the project has been launched and completed as early as possible. The MLA directed the officials concerned to accord top priority to quality and pace of this project adding that any kind of negligence in this work would be highly unwarranted.
