MLA Tarunpreet Singh Sondh Kickstarts paddy procurement in Khanna grain market, interacts with farmers
—–Reiterates the government’s firm commitment to procure every grain of farmers’ produce
Khanna (Ludhiana) October 1:
Khanna MLA Taranpreet Singh Sondh on Friday kick-started paddy procurement at Asia’s biggest grain market and directed the officials to ensure smooth procurement operations to facilitate farmers.
Sondh said that this year 1.85 lakh metric tonne paddy is expected to arrive at the mandi for which elaborate arrangements have been put in place. He reiterated the commitment to procuring every single grain of the food growers. He also interacted with some of the farmers present on the occasion and took their valuable feedback about arrangements made by the officials at the grain market.
MLA added that there was sufficient availability of bandana in the mandi for ensuring prompt lifting of paddy. He stated that no stone would be left unturned to assist farmers during the whole procurement operation.
SDM Khanna Manjeet Kaur, DFSC East Shifali Chopra, DFSO Lakhvir Singh, and others were present.
