MP Tewari demands rail link for Balachaur and upgradation of Ropar Railway Station

Called upon Railway Minister at Delhi

Member Parliament and Former Union Minister Manish Tewari called upon Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and demanded to upgrade the railway infrastructure.
During a meeting in Delhi, Mr. Tewari demanded that Balachaur should have a rail link so that the development of the area could get the bolster. Discussing the various ongoing railway development works and related issues of Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, he emphasized that the rail network should be more broader and world class as this is the much cheaper source of traveling and freight handling.
Mr. Tewari said that related to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the area of Balachaur has not been able to connect with the rest of the country through rail links. He suggested three ways to connect the area with rail link, first of which is a rail link from Garhshankar to Sri Anandpur Sahib; the second one is the construction of a rail link from Rahan to Ropar and the third is the construction of a rail link from Rahan to Samrala, which has been surveyed again and probably stopped due to traffic congestion.
Urging for upgradation of Ropar railway station, MP Tiwari said that it is an important city and the Indian Institute of Technology is also located here and students from all over the country come to study here But at present, there is only one platform in Ropar railway station, due to which passengers being faced problems. Accidents have occurred many times due to the congestion.
Similarly, MP Tiwari has also demanded to stop Jan Shatabdi and Howrah Mail trains at Kurali railway station.
