– Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal paid homage to the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel while remembering him on National Unity Day. On the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes at his feet and gave a message to the society to follow the path shown by him. The Chief Minister said that the feeling of national unity should be created in the young generation of the country, only then the country can move forward on the path of progress. The Chief Minister was speaking at the oath ceremony organized on the occasion of National Integration Day at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh on Monday.
The Chief Minister said that today 31 October is celebrated as National Unity Day across the country as the birthday of former Home Minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. As was the thinking of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and as the work was incomparable, this day has been named on the basis of that. The Chief Minister said that Sardar Patel played an important role in the freedom struggle, while after independence, he worked to unite the country.
Sardar Patel did the work of uniting 562 princely states
Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel said that the British had made India independent but left 565 princely states on their own free will. Patel took charge of the country’s Deputy Prime Minister as well as Home Minister, and with his wisdom, merged 562 princely states under the tricolor of India and created a united India. The way he played an important role in strengthening the unity of the nation by facing the challenges present in the country after independence, the country will always be indebted to him.
Statue of Unity installed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi built a memorial dedicated in the memory of Sardar Patel. It was named ‘Statue of Unity’, where a huge statue of Sardar Patel has been installed. The foundation stone of the ‘Statue of Unity’ was laid on 31 October 2013 and was inaugurated on 31 October 2018. The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the dream of a united India was realized by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi by breaking the Article 370 and 35-A implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Minister administered this oath on National Unity Day
Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal administered the oath of unity and integrity of the nation to the officers and employees present in the program – ‘I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to maintaining the unity, integrity and security of the nation and among my countrymen. I will try my best to spread this message. I am taking this oath in the spirit of unity of my country which was made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also solemnly pledge to make my contribution to ensure the internal security of my country.
On this occasion, Haryana Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. DS Dhesi, ACS Mr. VS Kundu, Mr. TVSN Prasad, Mr. Mahavir Singh, Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Mr. Ashok Khemka, Mr. Anil Malik, Shri Apoorva Kumar Singh, Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Amit Agarwal and other senior officers were present.
