E-ticketing facility started on 60 routes

Chandigarh, September 28– Haryana Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that new bus stands equipped with all modern facilities will be built for the convenience of the passengers in Rewari, Pipli, Barwala, Kanina and Guhla Cheeka of the state. Apart from this, tenders have been invited to buy 1000 buses.

        The Transport Minister was presiding over the review meeting with the officers of the department here today. He discussed in detail about the various demands of the bus operators on new bus stands, online transfer policy and departmental Kilometre scheme and gave necessary directions to the officers in this regard. He said that the foundation stone for the newly constructed bus stands will be laid soon so that the people could get their benefits at the earliest.

        He said that the drawing for the construction of bus stand in Rewari has been prepared. Similarly, the survey report of Pipli Bus Stand has also arrived. The tender process for clearing the debris of the old bus stand at Barwala in Hisar district and Kanina in Mahendragarh has been completed and renovation of the bus stand at Hodal will be completed soon. He said that modern level bus stands will be made at these places. A new bus stand is being built at Kherki Daula, Gurugram which will be completed soon.

The Transport Minister said that an amount of about Rs. 70 crore will be spent by the department on construction, renovation and construction of new buildings this year, whereas during the last year the work of construction and renovation of bus stands was done at many places and an amount of more than Rs. 17 crore was spent. He said that in order to provide better services to the citizens, the work of e-ticketing on 60 routes of the state has been started on a trial basis by the Transport Department. Soon the e-ticketing system will be started on other routes also.

        The Transport Minister said that the department has invited tenders for the purchase of 1000 buses, which will be finalized soon. Apart from this, 100 electric buses will also be available to the department soon within the next two months. These will further strengthen the transport facilities in the state.

The Transport Minister said that the online transfer process for departmental employees will be started soon and the process will continue till the month of October. Under this process, about 15,000 employees and officers will be transferred who have been working at the same place for three consecutive years. In this online policy, the posts of Driver, Conductor, Inspector, Store Keeper etc. have been included.

        The Transport Minister, while discussing the demands of the bus operators under the kilometre scheme, said that drug, road tests of their drivers will be done. Apart from this, eye examination of the drivers will also be done through the health department. He said that buses with kilometre scheme should run as per the prescribed norms and all formalities should be completed in them. Surprise inspection of these buses will be done by the Regional Transport Authority from time to time. He said that drivers and conductors who have done commendable work in the kilometre scheme will be felicitated.

        Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Transport Director, Sh. Virender Kumar Dahiya and many officers were present during the meeting.
