The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat inaugurated an orientation event held for Sarpanchs and Panchs of Kupwara district. The orientation programme is for providing legal literacy to the elected members of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) and was held by Jammu and Kashmir State Resource Center and University of Kashmir as a Nodal Agency of Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, New Delhi. The ADDC explained about the programme with details and the experts gave techno-pedagogic support to the literacy programme and awareness regarding health issues, financial literacy, electoral literacy and legal literacy. The PRIs were also provided awareness regarding Dowry Prohibition Act, Domestic Violence and Right to Education. It was attended by Sarpanchs, Panchs besides, concerned officers and other experts.
