Mr Rana Gurjit Singh, the Minister for Technical Education and Industrial Training, Employment Generation and Land Conservation, Government of Punjab today called upon all the government employees to ensure that the developmental projects are planned and executed keeping in view utility and longevity of projects in larger public interest.

Presiding over meeting of district administration Barnala to oversee ongoing developmental projects in the district the Minister stated that developmental projects conceived should be in tandem with need of masses and should be sustainable.

He appreciated the efforts of district administration Barnala in executing various developmental projects skillfully.

Laying emphasis on creating industry ready professionals Mr Rana Gurjit Singh added that local government ITIs and employment generation department should be in touch with local industry heads to impart local industry specific skills and make local youth more employabe.

Calling upon the need to save water he said that district Barnala administration was successfully implementing sewerage treatment plant projects wherein wastewater was being treated and shall soon be supplied for agriculture purposes.

Pressing upon the need to preserve and judiciously use water he said that Punjab is withdrawing 14.5 billion cubic metres of water extra every year.

To mitigate this and save the receding water table and emphasis is being laid on reusing the wastewater.

The Minister also handed over appointment letters government job to four kin of the farmers who have lost their lives during the Kisan Andolan.

Senior leader Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon, former MLA Mrs Bibi Harchand Ghanauri, chairman Improvement Trust Mr Makhan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr Kumar Sourabh Raj, SSP Mrs Alka Meena, ADC (G) Mr Amit Bamby, ADC (D) Mr Naval Ram and other senior functionaries of various departments were present.
