Chandigarh, June 3: Haryana Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh along with the Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department and Managing Director, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (HPGCL), presented a cheque of Rs.135 crore to Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today.
Divulging more details in this regard, Additional Chief Secretary Power-cum- Chairman HPGCL, Sh. P. K Das informed that the cheque is on account of Interim Dividend payout for the fiscal year 2021-22 towards equity contribution of the State in Aravali Power Corporation Private Limited (APPL), a joint venture of NTPC, IPGCL and Haryana.
He further added that the State Government has infused Rs. 716 crore as equity in the project and dividend amounting to Rs. 534.25 crore has been received to date.
Mohammed Shayin, Managing Director, HPGCL said that MoU was signed on 2 August 24, 2006, among NTPC, HPGCL and IPGCL for the development of a 3 x 500 MW Coal based power plant in Haryana.
He informed that land measuring approximately 2231 acres were acquired from the villages of Jharli, Mohanbari, Gorria and Khanpur Khurd.
He informed that the project was set up by NTPC at Jhajjar and its operation and maintenance is also being carried out by NTPC.
Regarding the power-sharing from the project, he informed that power is being shared in the ratio of 50: 50 between Delhi and Haryana.
