PUNJAB CROSSES 185 LMT MARK OF PADDY ARRIVAL, SANGRUR ON TOP FOLLOWED BY LUDHIANA-LAL SINGH

98 PERCENT PURCHASED OF TOTAL ARRIVAL

Chandigarh, November 11:

Ensuring seamless procurement in State Mandis, Punjab has successfully crossed 185 LMT mark in terms of paddy arrival till date in the grain markets of the state.

Disclosing this here today, Chairman Punjab Mandi Board Lal Singh said that during the current Kharif season, 185.66 LMT of paddy has arrived in the state mandis so far, of which 181.09 LMT stands procured across the state, as against about 186.16 LMT arrived during the corresponding period last year.

He also informed that the Mandi Board had established 2722 purchase centres including 1873 notified manids and 849 as temporary yards.

The Chairman further said that the Sangrur District is leading in terms of paddy arrival where 19.41 LMT of paddy had arrived in the mandis, followed by Ludhiana and Patiala with 16.95 LMT and 14.27 LMT respectively.

Expressing gratitude to the farmers for their support and cooperation to ensure smooth procurement during the ongoing operations, the Chairman complimented the efforts of all stakeholders especially the farmers to accomplish this gigantic task.
