Even 24 hours after Delhi Education Minister Manish Shri Sisodia released the list of 250 government schools in Delhi, Punjab Education Minister Shri Pargat Singh still has not released the list of schools in Punjab. In a press conference on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that the Education Minister of Punjab is running away from the discussion.

Since Shri Pargat Singh could not release the list, the Deputy Chief Minister requested the Punjab Chief Minister Shri Charanjit Singh Channi to release the list of best 250 government schools in Punjab. He said that the people of Punjab have the right to know the Congress Party’s contribution in the field of education in Punjab in the last five years. Shri Sisodia said that shying away from the comparison of schools in Delhi and Punjab is proof that the Congress Government has not worked on education in Punjab, and the Congress Government has only crushed the expectations of the people. The Kejriwal Government on the other hand has worked riguously on public education in Delhi. This is why Delhi’s education model is discussed all over the world.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that even after 24 hours, Shri Pargat Singh has not yet released the list of 250 schools in Punjab and it seems Shri Pargat Singh is running away from the discussion as he has nothing to demonstrate as the education model of Punjab. He said that Congress has not done anything for the development of Punjab in the last 4.5 years and especially in the field of education absolutely nothing has been done in Punjab. The people of Punjab elected the Congress government with great expectations, but the Congress failed to live up to their expectations and cheated the people of Punjab.

Shri Sisodia said that Shri Pargat Singh has left the field and ran away from the discussion, but now Chief Minister Shri Charanjit Singh Channi was expected to release the list of 250 schools in Punjab by this evening. He said that the people of Punjab also have a right to know whether the Punjab Government has not even developed 250 such schools in the last 5 years with world class infrastructure, teachers and school heads who’ve received training in foreign countries, improved results and students who get selected for IIT/JEE  like the schools of Delhi.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia expressed his hope that Shri Charanjit Singh Channi would not leave the ground and will release the list of 250 schools in Punjab by evening. If they are not able to release the list, it would be a public acceptance of the fact that nothing has been done to fix the education system of Punjab in the last 5 years.

It is noteworthy that Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia on Sunday released a list of 250 government schools in Delhi and invited Punjab Education Minister Pargat Singh to visit to witness the schools here. It was also demanded that  a list of 250 schools in Punjab be released so that the infrastructure, teacher training, improvement in results and overall learning outcomes of the schools of both the states can be compared and the people of Punjab can understand that is Delhi’s education model under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal is better or Congress’s education model in Punjab.
