Now Punjab doubly accountable on SYL canal– Haryana Chief Minister

We have to take water from Punjab and give it to Delhi- Sh. Manohar Lal

Chandigarh, March 17- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has raised the issue of Sutlej-Yamuna link canal after the formation of new government in Punjab.

He said that the new government of Punjab is now doubly responsible as we have to take water from Punjab and give water to Delhi.

In such a situation, their responsibility to provide water for SYL is more, because now both the states are ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party.  The Chief Minister was speaking during a press conference at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh on Thursday.

Responding to a question, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Punjab government would now have to think when the budget of the state would be presented in a few days.  The debit to GSDP ratio of the state is 48 percent, which is just 24.98 percent in Haryana.

The Chief Minister said that Delhi Chief Minister boasts of different things, Delhi cannot be compared with Haryana.  There will be about 1,100 government schools in Delhi but there are 15,000 government schools in Haryana.  At the same time, the cultivated land there is very less as compared to Haryana, as Haryana has 80 lakh acres of agricultural land.  Similarly, different regions have the different condition, so Delhi cannot be compared with Haryana, but Haryana can definitely be compared with Punjab.

CMGGA has nothing to do with any organization: Chief Minister

Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister Good Governance Associate (CMGGA) in Haryana has nothing to do with any political organization and the government does not pay them any salary.  Social organizations which participate are definitely working for their salary.

He said that a Chief Minister can appoint anyone as his advisor.  He said that along with Public Private Partnership, now is the time for Government Community Partnership.  Under this people can contribute for the betterment of the society.

The Chief Minister said that during the Corona period, about 75,000 people had got themselves registered for social work through the Samarpan app created by the government and also gave their social participation.  A new portal has now been created on the same lines.  Under this 2,900 registrations have been done.  They will also be used for social work soon.
