Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today Punjab needs an honest government. Only honest government can eliminate corruption and mafia from Punjab to take the state forward. We have selected honest and deserving candidates for tickets. Bhagwant Mann is a very honest leader. Despite being an MP for eight years, he lives in a rented house. We have declared him as our CM candidate because Punjab needs an honest Chief Minister like Bhagwant Mann.”

On Friday, Arvind Kejriwal and AAP’s chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann reached Phillaur and Adampur, where they had interactive programs with the people. Referring to the unfulfilled dreams of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of our Constitution, Kejriwal said, “I am a great devotee of Babasaheb. I worship him every day. It was the wish of Baba Saheb that every child of our country, whether poor or rich, should get good education. But even after 70 years, his dream has not been fulfilled. We have vowed to fulfil the dreams of Baba Saheb. In Delhi, our government is working tirelessly towards the fulfilment of Babasaheb’s dreams.”
Arvind Kejriwal said that their government has announced in Delhi on January 26th that every government office will have pictures of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. So, that our next generations shall know and respect these great men and their work. He added that similar announcement will be made in Punjab too. Kejriwal appealed to the people of Punjab, “This time before you cast your vote, sit in front of the picture of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and think once that if Baba Saheb was alive today, would he vote for sand mafia or people behind it, would he vote for dishonest and corrupt politicians? Choosing honest and deserving candidates as our representatives would be a true tribute to Baba Saheb.”
On the electoral battle of PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu and Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia in Amritsar East, Kejriwal said that this time the people of Punjab will choose ‘Aam Aadmi’, not the big political elephants that trample people. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Jeevan Jyot Kaur, who hails from a common family, from Amritsar East.
Kejriwal said that Congress Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been accused of sand mafia. There are allegations of drug mafia against the leaders of Akali Dal. The governments of both the parties ran mafia rule in Punjab and looted the people together. Lack of options forced the people to either vote for Congress or Akali. This time the people of Punjab have got an honest alternative in the form of Bhagwant Mann. Give us a chance. We will make Punjab Rangla, happy and prosperous again.
In these programs, AAP Punjab Chief Minister candidate Bhagwant Mann, addressed the issue of farmers and agriculture in Punjab and said that they have a roadmap ready for the farmers. AAP government will eliminate all types of agricultural mafia from Punjab. He said that AAP government will strengthen the relationship of farmers and arhtiyas and won’t let farmers suffer any kind of losses. Once the crops reached grain market it will be a responsibility of AAP government. If there is any damage to the grain in the mandi due to rain, storm or any other reason, then the government will bear it and the farmers will get the full payment of the crops within 24 hours.
