— Sports Minister inaugurates 73th Senior National Basketball Championship in Ludhiana
— Punjab Government working hard to put sports legacy of the state on high growth trajectory
Ludhiana, December 3:
Punjab Sports and Youth Services Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Sunday inagurated 73th Senior National Basketball Championship held here at Guru Nanak Stadium organized by Punjab Basketball Association.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister congratulated the organizers for holding a national level event in Punjab as it would further give exposure to Punjabi players besides boosting their confidence. He stated that Punjab is full of talent and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government was working hard to put our rich sports legacy on a high growth trajectory. The minister said that Punjabi players will script new success story in Basketball game as state government was making concerted efforts to provided thrm with proper training and preparation facilities.
He also urged national basketball academy to provide basketball academy and coach in Punjab so that our budding basketball players can also shine in international basketball events. He said that such events and opportunities Will provide necessary platform to our players.
Earlier, General Secretary Punjab Basketball Association Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman Organizing Committee Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Secretary organizing committee Rupinder Singh welcomed the minister on his arrival at the event.
