Under the ‘Mission Fateh’ 2 campaign launched with the objective of making villages corona free, the COVID sampling and door-to-door screening/ survey work in the district has been successfully completed, informed District Administration.
The survey which started on May 21, was carried out in the villages of three health blocks of the district namely Gharuan, DeraBassi and Boothgarh. The health teams including ASHA workers visited as many as 1,49,891 houses in the district and examined a total of 6,86,881 persons.
A total of 7180 Rapid Antigen tests were done on symptomatic persons out of which 328 tested positive. Initially, the target was to visit 1,24,954 houses in the villages and to cover 6,25,540 persons from rural areas. The doctors, Community Health Officials, health workers and ASHA workers performed a commendable job for carrying out the survey with utmost diligence. The villagers, especially the Sarpanches extended as much as possible support. The survey has been a success and would go a long way in making the villages COVID free.
Although, the number of new Covid-19 positive cases is steadily declining on daily basis, yet precautions are still needed. People should stay home unless there is an urgent need to move out. Masks should be worn necessary distance from each other be maintained. In case of health related query, COVID patient/attendant can contact the health department’s helpline 104 for the expert advice.
