Ludhiana, October 3 2021

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Sea of humanity converged on Sunday at Ludhiana to join the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal to celebrate 75-years of India’s independence.

The event was jointly organized by the Ludhiana district administration and Municipal Corporation.

Addressing the gathering, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that this mass movement was aimed to celebrate 75-year of freedom of our country and pay tribute to freedom fighters and those who laid down their lives during the freedom struggle. He said that the main thrust of the event was to ensure that people were made aware of the glorious history of the freedom movement and the sacrifices of martyrs so that the young generation could emulate their teachings in their lives.

He said that every one of us especially the youth must come forward for perpetuating the life and philosophy of the martyrs by imbibing patriotism.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, and MC Commissioner Pardeep Sabharwal said that the life and sacrifice of martyrs act as a lighthouse and would always inspire for rendering selfless service to the community, society, state and the country. They also thanked the people for extending fulsome support and cooperation to them in this noble cause. They expressed hope that the active support and cooperation of the people of Ludhiana would soon emerge as a clean, green, and pollution-free district.

Meanwhile, the Cyclothon of 10.2-Km was flagged off from Water Front Phase 2 behind MCL, Zone D, Sarabha Nagar in which hundreds of cycling enthusiasts from various Cycling Clubs participated in the event. A Walkathon of 2-km followed the cycling event was flagged off from Water Front 2, the dignitaries and the residents took part in it.
