Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Secretary, Haryana cautioned the Health officials regarding complacency in view of the recent decline in the COVID-19 cases in the State

Chandigarh, June 24 – Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Secretary, Haryana cautioned the Health officials regarding complacency in view of the recent decline in the COVID-19 cases in the State and advised them to conduct special drives for testing especially in places of high density such as Colleges, Offices, Malls, Factories etc.  He suggested that the Health Department should ensure that at least 50,000 RTPCR or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) should be conducted every day in the State.

He further directed the Health officials to identify the gaps experienced during the recent second wave of COVID and prepare themselves in advance for every eventuality.  He gave directions that requirement of essential drugs as well as equipments such as Pulse Oximeters, Thermometers, Ventilators etc. should be anticipated and the process for their procurement and purchases expedited.  Sh. Vardhan reiterated the importance of imparting training to medical personnel with special focus for treating COVID paediatric cases in the near future.  He emphasized the urgent need to source, modify and adapt the existing medical life saving equipments for paediatric use.

He gave these directions after a video conference to review COVID-19 preparedness which was chaired by Sh. Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary of India, today.
