The great actor of Bollywood, Sonu Sood, has done an amazing work recently. He launched a scholarship for Indian Administrative Services (IAS) aspirants. It’s just another medal added to his great works. Sonu Sood took this decision on the 13th Death Anniversary of his mother, Saroj Sood, on 13th October, 2020.
Sonu Sood has been known to have made several contributions to the society. When the pandemic hit the country and several migrants were left stranded, he came to their rescue. He has also funded education of several children. The great actor had earlier launched Scholify, a scholarship for all the Indian students. His humanitarian efforts are being appreciated every where and for his great works he was also awarded the Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Sonu Sood resorted to social media to announce the scholarship wherein he addressed that his mother left behind a legacy of Education and to honour her efforts, he is announcing a scholarship for IAS aspirants. He named it as Professor Saroj Sood Scholarship. This scholarship would be helpful for children who come from weaker sections of the society or poor students who cannot afford the books and material required to prepare for the exams. It was found that several poor children gave up their dream of IAS due to lack of resources and guidance. This initiative might be a turning point for these students.
The actor has been praised by other Bollywood stars on social media. Earlier this year, he had also helped JEE and NEET students in Haryana by offering them mobile phones to make study material accessible to them.
The actor was greatly attached to his mother. In July, he shared a picture from his childhood with his mother, wishing her a Happy Birthday.
