English originated in the West and since then, it has spreading throughout the world. It came to India along with the Britishersand is used in every work place today. Thus, it important to be acquainted with the language for our good. In West, several countries have declared English as their official national language. The language is quite vast and we can never learn all the words out there. However, all we can do is try. Thus, here we have a list of some words of English along with their meanings, which you might not have heard before:

 

1. Amorphous: stands for anything that does not have a defined shape or a form of it’s own.
2. Belligerence: is unruly behaviour which is quite aggressive.
3. Blandishment: is a way of tricking a person by using sweet words or gestures to sway them into doing your work.
4. Factotum: is a person employed by the company who does all kinds of work and does not have one single defined job.
5. Nillionaire: While a millionaire is someone with excessive money, a nillionaire is someone who has no money at all.
6. Malediction: is related to black magic. It is a magical spell which is meant to hurt someone or bring evil.
7. Limerance: is when you are mesmerised by a person in front of you whom you find really attractive.
8. Quire: Is a way of folding four sheets in a form that they seem like a book. This technique was used in the medieval era to form manuscripts.
9. Malarkey: is something senseless which does not have a meaning.
10. Pulchritudinous: is a word used to define the physical beauty of a person. It is mostly used to praise women for their beauty and valour.
