AICTE Offering platforms for the stakeholders to know about the changes in APH 2024-25
AICTE in collaboration with, University Business School, Panjab University, organised its annual workshop for its Approval Process 2024-25. Through the workshop AICTE communicates rules, regulations, etc. to all the institutions and other stakeholders. The inaugural session and workshop was attended by more than 650 directors/heads of institutions/principals from 6 statesoffering courses related to technical education (Engineering, Management, Computer Application, Planning, Design, Hotel Management & Catering Technology).Welcoming the stakeholders Shri Sanjoy Das, Regional Coordinator AICTE, stated that the approval process of AICTE for academic year 2024-25 reflects continued efforts to adapt to the changing the educational dynamics and constant evolution of technical education in India. Panjab university was represented and introduced by Prof.Harsh Nayyar, Director-Research & Development Cell, Panjab University. In his address he introduced the stakeholders to Panjab University, its rich history and also highlighted the relationship PU has with AICTE. University Business School was represented by Prof. Parmjit Kaur, Chairperson and Prof. PurvaKansal.
The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary AICTE. In his address Prof. Rajjve outlined the approval process of 2024-25, highlighted about National Credit framework and important Policy changes in Approval Process (2024-25). He mentioned that BCA and BBA/ BMS are courses which are being brought under AICTE regulation for the first time. He also highlighted that AICTE has introduced no cap for intake for institutions i.e. if institution is having available infrastructure as per AICTE norms they can apply for increase in intake. The workshop also introduced the stakeholders to important concept of Hibernation. The hibernation nomenclature means that institution, if for the interim period, does not want approval from AICTE they may do so based on the laid down guidelines in the APH
Entire Approval process handbook 2024-25 extending upto 2026-27 is available in AICTE portal www.AICTE-India.org. It was further highlighted that AICTE has set up aIFC (information and facilitation center)at New Delhi, which will be functional for the entire day to get clarification policy level as well as process level queries of the stakeholders.
Further in the workshop the Academic Bank of Credit & APAAR ID (NAD) was outlined by Asmita Dhillon, Director, AICTE . the interaction session was very informative where the delegates had ample time to discuss their queries about the process and difficulties faced thereof.
