The State Government has decided to give one-time waiver on payment

Chandigarh, December 28 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has said that the State Government has decided to give one-time waiver on payment of interest of pending property tax from year 2010-11 to the year 2020-21 till March 31, 2022. This decision will benefit about 18.80 lakh property tax payers of the state.

He said that a proposal in this regard has been approved by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.

Sh. Vij said that if such property taxpayers pay all their property tax dues by March 31, 2022, then they will be given the benefit of one-time rebate on interest.  He said that whoever has arrears of property tax till March 31, 2021 and pays all his property tax by March 31, 2022, then all such property taxpayers will get a one-time exemption in interest.

He said that with this decision, about 18.80 lakh property taxpayers of the state will get relief which includes residential, commercial, industrial, institutions etc.

The Urban Local Bodies Minister informed that a proposal had been received in this regard that due to the prevailing circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, a large number of property taxpayers may face financial crisis. Therefore, the State Government has decided to provide relief/assistance to such property taxpayers by accepting the request to waive the interest on arrears of property tax pending till the year 2020-21.
