Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today demanded immediate registration of a murder case against Ashish Misra, the son of union minister of state for home Home Ajay Misra, for crushing three farmers to death and seriously injuring eight others while they were protesting peacefully at Lakhimpur Kheri.
In a statement here, the SAD President said it was shocking that the Uttar Pradesh police had not moved in the case till now. “It seems the government is trying to protect the son of the union minister of State which is shocking and condemnable. We demand not only registration of a murder case against Ashish Misra but also his immediate arrest”.
Mr Sukhbir Badal said it was astonishing that the union home ministry had also not acted in the matter till now. “A very wrong signal has gone out in the country. The union home ministry should direct the Uttar Pradesh government to provide justice to the families of the murdered farmers immediately. An exemplary example should be set that the country will not allow such brutality against the annadaata”, Mr Badal added while condemning the barbaric act. EOM
