“We will remain firm on our stand till we don’t get SYL water, Hindi speaking areas and financial assistance to build a new capital” – Anil Vij
Sh. Anil Vij extends support to the proposal mooted by Chief Minister in the special session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha
Chandigarh, April 5 :– Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the resolution passed by the Punjab Government regarding Chandigarh is a political proposal. He said that we will remain firm on our stand in Chandigarh till we do not get SYL water, Hindi speaking areas and financial assistance for building a new capital.
Sh. Vij was addressing the members of the House regarding the resolution moved by the Chief Minister during the special session called by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. On this occasion, he said that he also supports the proposal moved by the Chief Minister.
Trying to stir the issue of Chandigarh to divert the attention of the people of Punjab – Vij
Sh. Vij said that the Punjab Government knows that they have come to power by promising concessions and cannot fulfill those promises. Sh. Vij said that the situation in Punjab is going to be like that of Sri Lanka, so an attempt has been made to stir up this issue to divert the attention of the people of that state.
Haryana never got justice: Vij
Addressing the members of the House, the Home Minister said that “we should understand that the four-day party is still in its infancy and they are talking about Chandigarh”. He asked, “Will they get Chandigarh like this, I do not want to say, but the eternal truth is that whatever commissions were made , whether it was Shah Commission, or Whether it was Eradi tribunal or others Haryana never got justice.
“We cannot even have an estimate on financial loss incurred to Haryana due SYL issue” – Vij
Sh. Vij said that “from SYL which becomes our right and we have been given 3.5 MAF of water in all tribunals, we are not able to bring water till today”. He said that “we cannot imagine how much economic loss has been incurred to Haryana, the water with which the thirst of our fields was to be quenched, those fields remained thirsty”.
“Our economic growth is more than that of Punjab, today we have shown by becoming bigger than Punjab” – Vij
Praising the hard work of the people of Haryana, the Home Minister said that “Haryana is a state of hard working people. When Haryana and Punjab were formed in 1966, the condition of Haryana was not good, but the people of Haryana worked hard and today the condition is that we are a progressive state as compared to Punjab. He said that “Our economic growth is more than Punjab.”
“Chandigarh is not the only issue” – Vij
Sh. Vij said that “I feel happy today that forgetting all our political ideologies, the entire House (Haryana Vidhan Sabha) is standing together to fight on this issue”. He added that “Chandigarh is not the only issue, other issues like SYL, Hindi speaking areas and financial assistance for the construction of new capital are also linked”.
