The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University organized a webinar on National Education Policy 2020, today. The Chief Guest of the Webinar was His Excellency, Sh. Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari Ji, Governor of State of Maharashtra. Prof. Upasna Joshi Sethi, Director, UIAMS, introduced the Chief Guest and extended warm welcome on behalf of Panjab University.
Prof. Raj Kumar Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, in his address stated that Panjab University has already started planning short and long term implementation of NEP 2020. He also stressed on sharing of resources’ and collaborations with different agencies. Prof Raj Kumar also highlighted the infrastructure facilities like CIL, Incubation Center and Human Resources wherein eminent scientists and researchers are presently working in the Panjab University and are collaborating with other Universities in the region for more research outcomes. The role of Bio-Nest where new incubation and innovative ideas are implemented for the students not only from nearby villages but far fledged places across the country was deliberated by PU VC in his address.
The Chief Guest of the Webinar His Excellency Sh. Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari Ji, Governor of State of Maharashtra at the outset appreciated Panjab University for being one of the oldest Universities in the country producing best Alumni across all the fields. ‘This education policy is the true representative of Bharat and the goal of achieving the status of Vishav Guru is viable under this policy. ‘This policy is based on Indian ethos, culture, values and morals which will help in making India a superpower in future’ added Sh. Koshyari Ji. Governor also deliberated on the multidisciplinary approach of NEP 2020 in giving student the option of pursuing education in his area of interest. He also emphasized on the role of language Hindi and Sanskrit in learning our culture and values as given in NEP 2020.
