CHANDIGARH
Thyroid glands play a vital role in which they make hormones that further help your body to use energy, make you warm, and balance the heartbeat and blood pressure.
Cancer is caused when the cells in the gland transform and grow out of control. In the United States, thyroid cancer stands the fifth among women, as it is more commonly found than any other cancer.
It is diagnosed at such a faster rate in the list of common cancer types. The risk of getting thyroid cancer increases when one of your blood relatives has already suffered. Thyroid cancer is also linked to certain genetic or hereditary problems.
Doctors explained that this thyroid causes extra tissue called polyps to form in the colon that is called familial adenomatous polyposis. If a person gets detected with this health issue then there are higher chances to get certain kinds of cancer, including thyroid cancer.
Here are some of the symptoms of thyroid cancer which include:
• Trouble in swallowing
• Breathing issues that are sometimes compared to sucking air through a straw
• Hoarseness/ Change in voice
• Cough which is not due to cold
• A lump in the front of the neck around Adam’s apple that might increase quickly
• Swollen glands in the neck which are not painful
• Severe pain in the neck which goes up into your ears
Other various reasons due to which a person gets thyroid cancer are:
Inherited genetic syndromes: The foremost reason for getting thyroid cancer is genetic in which cancer comes from the DNA you get from your parents or blood relation. According to the sources, In 2 out of 10 cases of medullary thyroid cancer, for example, the cancer is a result of an abnormal gene you’ve inherited.
Lack of Iodine: If there is a lack of the iodine component in your daily diet then also you can get infected or are at the risk of catching certain types of cancer. In the US, almost every dish or any other food contains iodine which is required for our body, still, there are some places or people who take less salt due to which they face problems in the future.
Radiation exposure: When your body part including neck or head has gone through some radiation treatment as a child can also be a reason for getting thyroid cancer.
