Chandigarh tan jhakki hai, Punjab hale baki hai’: Bhagwant Mann
Kejriwal-led Peace March, dedicated to communal harmony and peace of Punjab, received overwhelming response

Patiala / Chandigarh, December 31 2021

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab organized a peace march in Patiala for the peace and prosperity of Punjab, which was led by AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. On this occasion, AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, state president Bhagwant Mann and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib and Sri Kali Mata Mandir and prayed for communal harmony in Punjab. Earlier, Kejriwal and his associates laid wreaths at the memorial of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. A large number of party workers and leaders from Patiala and adjoining areas, carrying the tricolour flags, took part in the Peace Procession, which was conducted from the infamous Sheranwala Gate of Patiala to Children Memorial Park.

Addressing the people participating in the procession, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Assembly elections are going to be held in Punjab in next few days. Some people have started their dirty deeds. An attempt of desecration was made at Golden Temple in Amritsar and a bomb exploded in Ludhiana. Such attempts are being made to break the communal harmony of Punjab and disturb the peace and tranquillity here.” He said that the people of Punjab had no faith in these (Congress, Captain, Badal, BJP) parties as only ordinary people could save Punjab. And for this, three crore Punjabis must come together.

Kejriwal thanked the thousands who had come for the peace march and said that the people who had come here were leading 3 crore Punjabis and were replying to the enemies of Punjab that peace and prosperity of Punjab would not be allowed to deteriorate at any cost. He claimed that no one could break the peace and brotherhood of Punjab and he (Kejriwal) hoped that the people of Punjab would hand over the power of Punjab to the common people as Punjabis no longer trust people who are currently in power.

AAP Supremo slammed the Congress government, saying, “The ruling Congressmen have no concern for Punjab as they are fighting among themselves for the Chief Minister’s seat. Channi government is the weakest government of Punjab and it has failed to restore peace in Punjab,” He said that the accuser in sacrilege attempt is dead, Congress government had promised to identify and arrest the conspirators behind the attempt in 48 hours. This announcement of the Congress government has not been fulfilled yet. The conspirators who tried to break the communal harmony of Punjab have not been caught. Kejriwal questioned why the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and other religious scriptures and places, bomb blasts and terrorist activities started just before the elections. That is why Punjabis need to be extremely vigilant and united.

Mr. Kejriwal said that people of Punjab were well aware of selfish, opportunistic and mafia forces like Congress, Captain, Badals and BJP. Therefore, for the 2022 elections, the people have made up their mind to remove these corrupt people from power positions. The people of Chandigarh have recently shown this after Delhi. Kejriwal also appealed to the people of Punjab to change the government of Punjab in the upcoming elections. “We must bring a new government. The people of Punjab will decide in the new government and the AAP government will implement this decision,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhagwant Mann said, “Punjab has to keep an eye on ill-intenders, because whenever elections come, sacrilege, bomb blasts and other incendiary incidents are carried out on the land of Punjab so that the brotherhood of Punjab can be broken.” Mann accused the BJP of pursuing a policy of hatred, but the people of Chandigarh have told that they wanted a policy of communal harmony and development. “Chandigarh tan jhakki hai, Punjab hale baki hai (Chandigarh is just a trailer, Punjab will present whole picture.)” he added.
