15 New playgrounds come up at a cost of Rs 72.9 lacs in Barnala

District administration Barnala is committed to ensure overall development of the districts youngsters for which 15 new playgrounds worth Rs 72.9 lacs have been completed under the MNREGA scheme.
Giving this information here today Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka stated that the district was given target of preparing 5 new playgrounds in each of the three blocks under MNREGA scheme. 15 playgrounds have been prepared in Barnala, Sehna and Mahal Kalan. In the given period of time, district Barnala spent Rs 72.9 lacs on making these playgrounds.
The villages where these playgrounds have been made include Nanakpur Pindi Dhaula (volleyball), Fatehpur Pindi Dhaula (volleyball), Fatehgarh Chhanna (badminton), Kattu (badminton), Bilaspur Pindi Dhaula (volleyball), Wajidke Khurd (basketball and tennis), Kutba (basketball),
Diwana (basketball and track), Raiser Punjab (basketball and track), Wazidke Kalan (volleyball), Patti Mohar (volleyball), Bhotna (volleyball), Alakra (volleyball), Cheema (volleyball) and Bhagat Pura volleyball.
He added that through the rural development department the youngsters are being brought to playgrounds to hone their sporting skills and ensure good health. ADC (D) Mr Naval Ram said that these grounds have proven to be boon for the youngsters. At the same time these have also given employment to the MNREGA workers. He added that similar developmental works will continue in future.
