5 must eat food ingredients for diabetic patients

Diabetes has become a lifestyle disease that has clutched almost 537 million adults globally, according to the source. As per the 10th Edition of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Diabetes Atlas, 1 in 10 people is suffering from diabetes. It has seen a 16 percent increase since the previous IDF estimates in 2019.

Diabetes is a major concern for people across the world as an unstable lifestyle is one of the major causes of this health issue.

According to health experts, unhealthy lifestyles and imbalanced diet patterns are the causes that increase blood sugar levels, which are considered incurable. As the clinical nutritionists suggested, taking proper medical care and a healthy diet can regulate diabetes.

They explain that “Diabetes can lead to major health ailments including blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, and lower limb amputation. Healthy diet, physical activity, and avoiding smoking can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes,” reads a report on the official website of the United Nations.

Whole grains

In a diabetes-friendly diet, one can add wheat, corn, oats, barley, etc. which makes a perfect meal for them.  All the above-mentioned ingredients have plenty of healthy carbohydrates, which play a major role to keep our body healthy. It gives you energy as well as controls diabetes.

Dal or pulses
Dal is a part of our daily meal. Every one of us needs a dal either at lunch or at dinner. As pulses are loaded with dietary fibre those benefit to control diabetes.

Yoghurt
Low-fat dairy products and yoghurt is considered the best food to eat for diabetic patients. Besides being enriched with prebiotics, yoghurt contains dietary protein and amino acids that are good for the modulation of insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, informs the doctors.

Nuts

Various types of nuts including, almonds, walnuts, and others have an abundance of nutrients and are wholesome. Nuts are famous for healthy oils that encourage you to keep up a balanced diabetes-friendly diet.

Green leafy vegetables

Whether you are fighting for any disease or not, doctors advise you to eat green leafy vegetables in your meal as it has numerous benefits. The reason behind it is they contain iron, calcium, vitamins, etc., and have a lower glycaemic index (GI).

Additionally, The UN General Assembly in 2007 adopted a resolution establishing 14 November as World Diabetes Day. This year, people are made aware of the causes and the consequences of diabetes. The UN General Assembly feels that there is a requirement to generate multiple efforts to promote human health and give access to healthcare teaching.
