Over the past several years, numerous studies have issued warnings about the negative impact of smartphones on various areas of health. In today’s world where kids are always addicted to screens, excessive smartphone use is becoming a problem because it can harm sleep, memory, and learning abilities. Having poor posture when using a smartphone might result in a variety of problems. Consistent forward neck posture can harm ligaments as well as the cervical and lumbar spine’s structural integrity. Use of a smartphone can result in the following joint problems:

1. It can cause neck and shoulder discomfort: Using a smartphone every day for more than two to three hours might result in low back pain as well as neck and shoulder pain. Particularly when using these phones when lying down.

2. Thumb typing frequently can increase the risk of developing osteoarthritis in the first carpometacarpal joint. 5. Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS): Children who play mobile games for extended periods of time are at risk of developing HAVS. When children use mobile devices and play games for extended periods of time, they experience severe hand pain.

6. Repetitive stress on ligaments and joints results in pain, tingling, numbness, or deformity in the hand and wrist.
