A One day Webinar on National Education Policy at PU

A One day Webinar was organized by Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) in collaboration with Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Centre Panjab University, Chandigarh to celebrate the essence of education on 5th September which is marked as teachers Day on topic  ‘Badalte Bharat ka Swarup: National Education Policy’ by Sh.Naveen Kaushik a well known Advocate of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Supreme Court of India  . The Welcome address was done by Prof. Ashok Kumar, Director – CSSEIP & Professor in Hindi, Panjab University a renowned academician of Hindi literature. He talked about importance of teacher , education and significance of this day very elaborately.

Hon. V.C Panjab University Prof. Raj Kumar, delivered the Presidential Address. He deliberated on the New Education Policy as a milestone for Indian Education system. It’ll unite India as it focused on mother tongue/Mother Language. He further added that Multiple entry and multiple exist system will be very beneficial for economically weaker section and lower strata of the society. He very systematically emphasized to promote rich Indian , art , culture and language alongwith  professional skill development.

Sh. Naveen Kaushik in his lecture discussed salient features of National education policy. National education policy lays emphasis on providing the primary education in mother tongue. He cited about UNESCO (Article 19) focusing on teaching in mother language/ tongue as  it’s helpful for the holistic development of the student. He explained the promotion of Sanskrit as welcome step to make Indian masses aware about this precious language. He further explained that this national education policy will help to eradicate poverty and unemployment.

Prof.Devinder Singh Coordinator Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Centre and Professor of law Panjab University, Chandigarh extended vote of thanks he emphasized and welcomed this National education Policy as a step further for a new and progressive India. It will lead to intellectual empowerment of masses. The session was moderated by Dr.Kanchan Chandan from teaching faculty CSSEIP, P.U. Chandigarh
