Chandigarh, August 3:  As part of the “75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” being run across the country under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, as many as  1,69,355 saplings were planted in Haryana today. Maximum saplings were planted by Karnal and Nuh districts in this plantation programme.

        Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that as per the directions given by Haryana Chief Minister,  Sh. Manohar Lal and Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, as many as 4,89,943 women belonging to 45,968 groups formed under Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission (HSRLM) organized a special campaign for plantation today in all the districts of the state.

        Under this campaign, women planted 1,69,355 saplings of different species (Peepal, Banyan, Badha, Neem, Amla, Giloy, Tulsi, Lemon, Sahjana, Belpatra, Mango, Jamun etc.), he added.

        The spokesperson said that the women of Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission also took an oath to take care of all these plants in future.

        This unique effort has been made by women so as to protect the environment and increase the health and immunity power of mankind, added spokesperson.
