DIFFERENT BENEFIT OF FOODS IN DIFFERENT CONDITIONS

Everybody is concerned about their health today in order to protect themselves from the ongoing pandemic. People have switched to healthy options like vegetables from fast food. You can see everybody talking about eating right and healthy. However, we are unsure about how certain foods should be consumed and in what form are they most beneficial. For example, tomato. Some say we should eat it raw while others think it’s more beneficial when boiled. Here are some foods that provide different benefits in different conditions-

1.Bananas-Banana is a fruit that rarely get rotten. We can consume it when it’s under ripe or even over ripe. However, people who are diabetic are suggested to eat under ripe bananas as they have less glucose in it and are less sweet to taste. When the banana starts ripening, it turns sweeter due to increased levels of glucose. Under ripe bananas can, however, contain resistant starch which makes it difficult for the body to digest the banana.

2.Tomatoes- There has always been a debate over how tomatoes should be consumed. Experts say that raw tomatoes consist large amounts of beneficial Vitamin-C. However, a cooked tomato contain lycopene. It is an antioxidant which our body needs more than Vitamin-C. Thus, eat your tomatoes cooked.

3.Carrots- Who doesn’t like munching on raw carrots because they taste amazing. They contain large amounts of beta carotine. However, they are even more beneficial for the health when they are cooked. This is because the beta carotine levels increase when the carrots are boiled.

4.Bread- is something we consume on a daily basis for breakfast. A toasted bread is a good option for diabetic people due to low levels of glycemic index. Toasting it reduces the amount of starch in the bread. On the other hand, a sourdough bread is very beneficial due to large amount of antioxidants.
