KARGIL JUNE 04, 2021: Executive Councillor for Tourism, Rural Development (RD) and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi reviewed the pace of progress on various ongoing developmental works under Rural Development sector in Zanskar Sub Division at Conference Hall Padum here today.
Area Development Officer/Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Block Development Officer (BDO) Zanskar Tsewang Rigzin, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) REW Er Tsering Angdus besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the concerned officers apprised EC Tashi that tendering process of the sanctioned works under State Sector, Special Development Package (SDP) and District Capex Budget in the sub division have almost been completed and 50% of the works have already been started, adding notice has been issued to those contractors who have failed to execute the allotted works.
EC Phunsok Tashi informed the meeting that Rs 25 crores under Special Development Package (SDP), Rs 15 crores under State Sector and Rs 2 crores under District Capex Budget have been sanctioned for Zanskar, Karsha and Lungnaq blocks of Zanskar Sub Division for the financial year 2021-2022.
EC RD directed the concerned Block Development officers (BDOs) and engineeringec tashi
wing to accelerate the pace of works in view of the short working season.
Meanwhile EC Phunsok Tashi also inspected various sites of ongoing works and directed the concerned officers to depute Junior Engineer at every working site so that the correct ratio of materials can be maintained and monitored.
