Nail infection occurs mostly in men than in women and the infections are found in adults more often than in children. If you have a genetic problem of getting these types of fungal infections, you’re more likely to get them as well.
Nails deficiency mostly occurred in following cases:
- Diabetic patient
- Poor circulation disease
- Above 65 years
- Habitual of artificial nails
- Use public swimming pool
- Any nail injury
- Skin injury around the nail
- Moist fingers or toes for an extended time
- have a weakened immune system
- Wear shoes or boots in daily routine
Causes of the white spots on the nails are:
- Allergic reaction: Any allergic reaction from the nail paints, gloss applied on the nails or any other accessories of the nails can cause harm to the nails and the skin. Sometimes nail polish remover may cause white spots on your nails. So, the use of acrylic or gel nails can also badly damage your nails and may cause these white spots.
- Fungal infection: Common nails fungus which gets infected on the toe nails is called white superficial. In the star the sports are small in size but if you ignore those spots then they will enlarge in next weeks. The infection can grow and spread to the nail bed. Toenails may become flaky and then look thick and brittle.
- Injury to the nail: An injury at or around your fingernail can create white spots on your nail as it grows. However, because the nail takes time to grow, you may not recall the injury. Some injuries won’t have any sign or symptom for around four weeks or more.
- Mineral deficiency: If you are deficient in certain minerals then also the white spots appear on the nails and on toe nails. The deficiencies most commonly linked to this issue are zinc and calcium deficiency.
- Eat balanced diet: A person having calcium deficiency should eat equal proportions of vitamins, minerals and calcium. Go for dairy products such as milk, cheese to cure the calcium deficiency. Eat fresh fruits and leafy vegetables for good health care.
