Symptoms and causes of breast cancer

Breast cancer forms in the breast tissue and is the same as any other cancer type. The most affected gender is women above the age of 50 years. According to medical experts, the maximum breast cancers around 80% occur in women over the age of 50. And it is said that the older you are, the higher your risk.

The most common symptom that can be detected as breast cancer is a lump. Moreover, numerous other symptoms exist of breast cancer.

The start-up of breast cancer is when the cells begin to divide and grow in an unusual and disorderly fashion. There are some parts through which breast cancer can erupt. Mostly, breast cancer starts in the ducts and the ducts are tubes in the breast that carry breast milk to the nipple. Another part where cancer can occur is the lobules. The lobules are glands that produce milk for breastfeeding.

Even so, there is a rare chance of men getting breast cancer, and if it takes place then the men who get breast cancer are over 60. Apart from the genes, environment and lifestyle also impacts Breast cancer.

However, here are some risk factors, that can be controlled to prevent, breast cancer:

• Alcohol consumption– Your amount of alcohol increases the risk of breast cancer. Women who consume two or three alcoholic beverages daily have an approximately 20% higher risk of getting breast cancer than women who do not drink at all.

• Bodyweight- Being overweight is another risk factor for breast cancer. To prevent it, you have to do physical activity and eat a healthy diet.

• Breast implants– Having silicone breast implants and resulting scar tissue make it harder to distinguish problems on regular mammograms. It is best to have a few more images (called implant displacement views) to improve the examination. There is also rare cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) that is associated with the implants.

• Choosing not to breastfeed- When mothers say no to breastfeeding can also raise the risk of breast ailment.
