FACTS ABOUT COCONUT THAT WOULD BLOW YOUR MIND

Coconut is a fruit grown on a coconut palm tree. It is consumed worldwide because of the great properties it possesses. It is used in different dishes and also cosmetics. Coconut has water inside which is full of nutrients and is extremely beneficial for health. Here are some facts about the heavenly fruit:

1. Thailand: is abundant in coconuts. The major task involves harvesting the coconuts which are hanging high above the palm tree. To ease the work, the farmers in Thailand have trained pigtailed macaques to help them harvest the coconuts. This make their work easier as the macaques can collect 1600 coconuts in a day compared to a human who can only collect 100.
2. Solomon Islands: During the Second World War, John F. Kennedy was stuck in Solomon Islands and had no way to escape. To save his life, he carved a message for the nearby US base on a coconut and delivered it with the help of a native person. This got him the much-needed help.
3. Coconuts Travelling The World: As coconut trees are mostly found near water, it is obvious that they fall into it and get transported to different regions. They can be found anywhere and everywhere as there are millions of coconuts in the sea.
4. Maldives: In 2013, a coconut was almost arrested on suspicion of black magic. The police suspected that the coconut was placed there to hamper the nearby election poll. However, a magician confirmed that the coconut was innocent.
5. Philippines: Buko Pie is the Philippines’ own version of apple pie which is made using coconut and condensed milk. It was invented by Soledad Pahud, a maid who worked in US where she came across apple pie. On returning back to Philippines, she invented her own version of it.
