Govt shifts JK residents left out through special trains

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has shifted about 6,83,888 JK residents, left out in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur with help of special trains and buses. As per the official information received, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 5,43,596 persons from other states and UTs including 937 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur. As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 10363 left passengers have reached through Lakhanpur from October 22 to October 23 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 left out passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains.
