INSTALL CCTV CAMERAS, ALARM SYSTEM AND DEPLOY SECURITY GUARDS: CP ASKS BANKING AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

REVIEWS SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS AT NATIONALIZED BANKS, FINANCE COMPANIES, AND MONEY EXCHANGES

Reviewing security arrangements at banks, goldsmith shops, money exchanges, and finance companies, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on Tuesday asked the heads of these institutions to strictly adhere to security norms in their branches to address all kinds of safety concerns.
Chairing a meeting with representatives of these institutions, the CP asked that all banks, whether nationalized or private, finance companies, and loan providers to ensure adequate security measures including installation of CCTV cameras, safety alarms besides deploying armed security guards in their branches. He asked these branch heads to maintain regular communication with mobile police parties deployed in their respective localities to make batter coordination so as to ensure foolproof safety arrangements. He also asked them to keep a regular check on safety gadgets especially safety alarms or hooters in their branches and make sure of their functionality.
Around 136 branch heads participated in the meeting including 89 from banks, 28 from loan provider companies like muthoot, etc., and 10 from western union money transfer, and others.
